Michele GUGLIUCCIELLO
September 15, 1917 – February 14, 2017
Mike passed away peacefully in his 100th year on Valentine's Day with his beloved wife of 67 years, Rosa at his side. He is remembered lovingly by his son Gerry (Dorothy), daughter Lina (Richard), grandchildren; Jason, Ryan, Carolyn, Kelly (Josh) and great-granddaughter Rhiannon.
Mike was born in the small town of Colliano, Italy in the region of Campania. While serving his country during WWII he landed in other parts of the world, most notably Australia, of which he had fond memories. After the war, he and his young bride Rosa came to Canada to start a new life together and embodied all that is good about the hard-working Italian immigrant; dedicating over 30 years working for the City of Etobicoke. Mike was a proud Canadian and always flew the red "Maple Leaf" flag every Canada Day. He was quiet, kind and strong of character and will be missed.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the G.H. Hogle Funeral Home Limited, 63 Mimico Ave., Toronto, ON M8V 1R2.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church, 61 Jutland Rd., Toronto, ON M8Z 2G6.
