Moira Sparrow Obituary
SPARROW, Moira (nee Nisbet) - Died peacefully in Toronto on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at the age of 70. Moira was one of five children born to Jack and Mary Nisbet, October 15, 1940 in Coventry, England. She is predeceased by brothers Don, Bill and Jack and survived by her younger sister, Helen. Moira came to Canada at age 16 in 1957, accompanied by her best friend. She soon was welcomed into a new family, the Sparrows. Moira married her husband Douglas Alan Sparrow on the 5th of August, 1961. She formed a close relationship with mother-in-law, Mildred Sparrow, as well as brother and sister-in-law, twins Don and Diane. Moira's greatest joy was as a mother. She will be greatly missed by daughter Heather and son-in-law David Wilson, of Connecticut, as well as son Robert and daughter-in-law Dawn Biljetina, of Toronto. Moira is remembered by her children for her warmth, especially shown towards her beloved granddaughters, Rachel and Claire Wilson. Moira was known for her baking, knitting and thoughtful, quiet gestures of kindness. She was a brave woman who faced struggles with dignity and grace and cherished every moment with her family. Family and friends may call at the Turner & Porter Funeral Home, 436 Roncesvalles Ave., Toronto (at Howard Park), on Thursday, September 1, 2011 for a visitation beginning at 1 o'clock, followed by a Funeral Service in the Chapel at 3 o'clock.
