Moya ROMANOV Obituary

ROMANOV, Moya died peacefully at home, on August 9, 2021, with Bryan at her side. Moya was predeceased by her parents John and Catherine Fitzgerald and her brothers, George (Jean), Bud and Patrick. Moya is survived by her sister-in-law, Babs Fitzgerald along with nephews and nieces John (Elizabeth), Bob, Jan, Howard, David and her life partner of 44 years, Bryan Hill. Moya was born in Toronto and attended Loretta Abbey Catholic Secondary School. After graduation, the family moved to San Diego and lived in La Jolla, California for several years and then made their way up to Vancouver for several more. While in Vancouver Moya went to secretarial school and modelled. After the death of her father Moya and her mother returned home to Toronto. For a period of time Moya worked for an advertising agency and that eventually led her to one of several jobs at CBC Toronto. She started with TV Sales and then moved on to Radio Technical Scheduling where she worked from 1975 until 1988. After CBC, she spent two years with a private firm specializing in international trade shows and then got her real estate licence where she spent 10 years with Coldwell Banker Case. Cremation has taken place. In respect of Moya's wishes, there will be no service. In her memory, if you wish, a donation to the Humane Society would be most appreciated.

I met Moya along with the other scheduling ladies at the old CBC radio building on Jarvis street. I was one of the Audio Technicians she worked with and had many a great time with Bryan and other's at the Red Lion across the way.

She was a great cheerleader for the hockey team, especially on those memorable trips to Montreal or Quebec city for tournaments.

A bright spark in the scheduling office, her fiery relationship with the jovial Bryan was always part of the environment as we gathered in the Tech lounge.

Though I left after the strike in1981, seeing the picture of her radiance brought back many a fond memory of those times. It was nice to read that Bryan was still her life partner as I remember how devoted to her he was at the time.

Bryan....
So sorry to hear of this sad event... hopefully all the good memories will help you through this time.
