Muriel McGOWAN Obituary

Muriel Hilda McGOWAN

Suddenly,  but oh so peacefully on Sunday afternoon, April 10, 2016 at her home at Extendicare Guildwood, Muriel Hilda McGowan (nee Smith), in her 91st year. Finally reunited with her beloved husband and favourite dance partner, the late Mr. Ambrose (Mac) McGowan. Deeply loved mother of Fredrick (Anne), Catherine (Shaun) and Karen. Devoted Nana to Jennifer (Terry), Meghan (Chris), David (Stephanie), Amber, Fraser (Parris), Cameron and Brendan. Great-Nana to Kate and Maxwell. Much loved sister of Alfred Smith (Wendy), Marilyn (the late Colm), and Earl, Norman and Lloyd (all predeceased). Wise and fun loving aunt of many nieces and nephews. Our most heartfelt thanks to Muriel's devoted and loving nurses, Rosemary Deen and Lena Thomas. Your strength, compassion, care and love have seen us through a very long and difficult journey with Alzheimer's. You are both true angels. Words cannot express the depth of our gratitude to all the staff at Guildwood, it takes a village to care for a resident and Guildwood is an extraordinary village. Arrangements in care of Pine Hills Visitation Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto would be greatly appreciated by the family.
