1928 - 2021

McELROY, MYRTLE FERN Born July 27, 1928 in Highland Grove, ON to Evelyna and William Andrews. One of seven children: Frank, Audrey, Evelyn, Ken, Nadeen and Allan. Mom came to Toronto at the young age of 17 to work as a nanny. Mom met our Dad; Stan and got married on August 1, 1950. They then welcomed Debra (Brian), Susan (John), Douglas (Karen) and Patricia (Andrew). Mom enjoyed 43 years of marriage until Dad's passing in 1994. Mom was a faithful member of Dorset Park Baptist Church for over 65 years; and knew that she would be reunited in heaven with many relatives and friends. Mom and Dad were avid travellers and enjoyed many family trips to Florida, Hawaii, British Isles, Europe, Fiji and Australia. Mom also traveled to Israel with her dear friend Verna. Mom was also blessed with a special 10-year friendship with Geoff Hearn. Mom was a very social and independent woman who loved being with her family at all the special occasions which included lots of food and laughter. Mom had 11 grandchildren, Leslie (Donato), Kevin, Evan (Daisy,) James, Mathew, Hailey (Donald), Matthew, Jennifer (Michael), Scott, Katrina and David. Mom also welcomed great-grandchildren, Ryan, Morgan, Ayden, Riley, Rayne. Mom struggled with the isolation of Covid and eventually lost her battle with dementia.
