NANCY KATHLEEN LEFEBVRE

LEFEBVRE, NANCY KATHLEEN It is with great sorrow that we share the passing of Nancy Kathleen Lefebvre, nee: White. From July 29, 1930 (according to Nancy) or July 30, 1930 (according to her birth certificate) to June 8, 2022, Nancy led a life full of love, family, friends, and so much more. Always known for her fashion sense, Nancy never left the house or her room without 'looking presentable', which included lipstick and perfume. Her children, Ron, Robert, and Mary Kate will remember her as a strong parent; loving, guiding, supporting and always willing to give her opinion right to the end. Her six grandchildren will remember her for her awesome babysitting skills, making university quilts, and just being Grandma Lefebvre. Nancy was so excited to reach great-grandmother status for two little boys. She will miss watching them grow. Being an aunt, great-aunt, and great-great-aunt gave Nancy the opportunity to share and feel extra love. She valued the closeness she had with them all. She was very proud of her family and was happiest when they were all together, even when it got too loud. People in New Liskeard knew Nancy as 'Babe White', daughter of Kate and George, sister of Bill, wife of Ray Lefebvre; although Ray would often say he was better known as the husband of Babe. They married on July 30, 1955. They shared only 28 years, making 504 Martingrove Road a home filled with joyful memories for so many family and friends. It was extremely hard on Nancy when Ray died suddenly in December 1983. She missed him and tried to fill her life with as much else as she could to help with the loneliness. Nancy started teaching in Englehart when she was only 18, and retired in 1988 from the Peel Board. Kindergarten was her forte, with classrooms full of learning, singing, and happy little ones. Teaching was in her blood, as she was always willing to lead a group, speak to a crowd, organize anything, or just use her 'teacher voice.' Her retirement was packed with trips, winters in Florida, the Red Hat Society, cards, new crafting projects, and many good times at Amica City Centre. The staff at St. Andrew's Terrace in Cambridge deserve recognition for the respectful care and support they gave Nancy and her family over the years. Every member of the staff was helpful and very mindful of her needs. Their love for Nancy was obvious in the care she received in her last days. Her family truly appreciates this wonderful place. Nancy will be cremated and interred with Ray at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Some of her ashes will 'go home' to New Liskeard. A Celebration of Life will occur at a later date.
