Nassif Moubayed Obituary

NASSIF ELIAS MOUBAYED February 27, 1925 - March 9, 2010 After a short illness Nassif passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 50 years, Erika. A devoted father to Elias (Susan), Nadia (Dietmar) and Nabil (Deanna). He was simply 'Jiddu' to his 6 beautiful grandchildren Tillo, Natasha, Tobias, Nina, Kaden and Devyn. He will also be missed by his brother George (Ada) and sister Clemence. All his family and friends will miss his gentle spirit, kindness, compassion, sense of humour, wisdom, love of his fellow man and above all the twinkle in his eye. As one of his friends once said, 'He had God's gift of being able to see through the maze of life and very clearly and wisely make good decisions'. Canada became his adopted home after a long and successful international career with the Bata Shoe Organization, and he is fondly remembered by many former colleagues all over the world. The family would especially like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Scarborough Grace Hospital for their compassionate care during the final 2 weeks of his life. Friends may call on Friday, March 12, 2010 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church (9116 Bayview Avenue). Interment to follow at Elgin Mills Cemetery (1591 Elgin Mills Road East). As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Scarborough Grace Hospital, www.tsh.to/pages/Donate or Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, www.pmhf.ca Condolences www.rskane.ca
