I had the great pleasure working with Nick while serving as President of the Argos. I fondly remember his cheerful and positive attitude, his passion for the game and his commitment to and support of Canadian talent in the CFL. His relationship with U of T led to the Club's partnership with the university's Mississauga campus and the creation of its first training site. Nick's long history and connection to the Argonauts is an exception in today's world of professional sports. I will miss him as will the hundreds of players and coaches he scouted, encouraged and influenced over his long career. My condolences to his family and many friends.

My condolences and prayers to Donna, Steve and the entire Volpe Family. What a treasure your dad was to everyone he met. Fond memories of him in the St Dominic's Parish where he served with my dad as an usher. He was an amazing man.

Nick was a regular at Blues practices when scouting for the Argos. He and Frankie Morris of the Eskimos were the only two scouts who spent a lot of time recruiting University talent. A great positive approach and always a welcome visitor to our practices. A true gentleman.

Canadian football has lost one of its giants. From his playing days with East York Collegiate, the Varsity Blues and Toronto Argonauts, through his coaching career at Port Credit Secondary School and Balmy Beach of the ORFU, to his lengthy tenure as director of Canadian scouting for the Argos, Nick Volpe represented the best attributes of a true sportsman and gentleman. He will be sorely missed.

Nick was a kind and gentle soul. He looked out for people and was always accessible for a bit of helpful advice AND a kind word. I thoroughly enjoyed his company. Nick shall be missed.
In peace, my friend.

Nick loved the game of football and was a gifted player and coach. I played for Nick with the Lakeshore Bears in 1958 and learned a lot about life through his coaching. R I P Nick
