Norma Drake Obituary

DRAKE, Norma Majury (McGregor) - On March 5, 2009, in the 91st year of a generous life. Loving and beloved mother of Patricia (Frank), Victoria and Julia (Norman), she was predeceased by her husband, Richard Drake, and brothers George (Jean) McGregor and William (Candy) McGregor. She is survived by her sister Marie (Bill) Arnfield. Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, she spent most of her life in Toronto, graduated from Malvern Collegiate, enjoyed the companionship of her Yorkies, and always remained close to her daughters. Friends and family will celebrate Norma's life on Saturday, April 4, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., in the Visitation Centre at Pine Hills Cemetery, 625 Birchmount Rd. The family wishes to express its deepest appreciation to the caring staff of True Davidson Acres. In lieu of flowers, please plant a tree, nurture a garden or help a child in need. Norma would have liked that.

Dear Julia,

Harriet and I offer our deepest sympathies. We hope your mother's passing was easy, and trust that you have many loving memories to help you through this difficult time. In the Jewish tradition, we take this time to share fond stories, laugh about foibles, and celebrate life rather than mourn death, especially when the loved one lived a long, full life. Our thoughts are with you at this time.
