Oh Daddy. I'm so going to miss you! You kept going despite so many things over last few years that I got used to thinking you might be immortal!

You were always like a wise old owl to me - like the ones I read about in children's books that people sought out for answers. You were always a great & attentive listener and ever so patient. You were the sage of the family and often of our friends & community. There was no topic that you could not shed light on and almost nothing you couldn't do if you set your mind to it. From your vocations of being an electrician, teacher and publican to all your self taught skills of plumbing, building, metallurgy, robotics, stained glass making, macrame, framing, reupholstery and on and on.

You had passions for jazz music, fishing, sailing, antiques, stamp & coin collecting, brewing beer, crosswords, suduko, grilling & smoking meat in the finest of wood chips, to being an avid saucier. You loved travel & magazines and food and old English/Irish pubs! Whether it was a roadside diner or a 5 star restaurant, you so appreciated your food! You always loved to lend a helping hand & share all that you knew. You were kind and gentle soul in this noisy world - you so loved your friends & family and to entertain and show us all a good time. You had every concoction known to man at the ready should any guest ask for the most obscure of cocktails - and you knew how to make them. You loved making jokes and had a wicked sense of humour. More than anything you knew how to have fun and enjoy life!

You were a great role model to me and taught me a love of reading & learning & enjoying the little things in life - and that those are really the biggest things of all - Food & family, love and laughter!

Thank you Daddy for giving me a wonderful childhood and I will cherish all our amazing memories shared together & love you forever!
