I'm saddened to hear only recently of Norm's passing.
He was my best friend while growing up in Whitby, Ont.
We would bike out to Lynbrook Park as it then was to swim.
We laughed at the sign "Gentiles Only". I was Catholic
enough to provide cover for both of us. What fun we had!

Dear Dayle, Beth and Heidi,
I am so sorry to learn of the passing of your wonderful father. I worked with him for over 8yrs, 19yrs ago (when I left 200 St. Claire Ave. W.) to raise my family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers and please know I will forever remember your gentle giant, loving dad. Jacqueline Kiss (nee Holden)

My sincere condolences to Norm's family. I often reflect on how Norm was instrumental in enabling me to do what I love -- dentistry. Norm was the team leader during my initial dental school interview and the discussion quickly changed from academics to family, sports, work experience and I guess 'character'. When the interview was over, Norm gave me a comforting wink. Sure enough, I was accepted into dentistry and during the first nervous day in Lab 51 I felt Norm's big hands on my shoulders welcoming me to the Dental Faculty. As stated in another condolence, Norm had a gift for identifying and nurturing many undergrad and grad students.
God Bless you Dr. Levine.

Dayle, Beth, Heidi and Family,

Hamakom y'nachem etchem b'toch sh'ar aveylei tziyon viyrusholayim

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. It is a sad time for you and for all of us who have been extended members of Norm's professional family. It is through your support that he along with many of our other great professors were instrumental in getting the 'next generation' of Paediatric Dentists on the way in Canada. I have many fond and funny stories that I would love to share about Norm with you. I know if it were not for Norm's 'guided' encouragement that I would not be doing what I am doing today. That he could see this in many of us was a gift.

I apologize that I will not be able to get up to Toronto from Halifax to attend Shiva for Norm but please know in your hearts that I share your grief and sorrow, but more importantly I will forever celebrate Norm's life and accomplishments.

Sincerely,

Ross and Carolyn Anderson

Our sincere condolences to Heidi, Beth/Arnold and Dayle. Sylvia and I were saddened to learn of Norm's death. He was an incredibly influential person in the lives of many young dentists and pediatric dentists offering sage advice in his quiet, unassuming way. His large stature and deep voice belied his gentle and kind soul. He will be missed by many in all walks of life. I will be forever thankful that Norm was a part of my life. May he may rest in peace and may your memories of him burn brightly and sustain you.
