Like others I was shocked to hear of the passing of this gentle giant. After reading the many entries here, I am sorry I didn't know him better. I had the privilege of working with Nyron on a number of committees in my role as manager at Jewish Family and Child. He was a very sweet man that saw the best in people and when he didn't he sought to bring it out. I will miss his warm smile and his dedication to helping others. My sincere condolences to his family.

Sending love and comfort to Nyron's dearests.
Nyron had a wonderful interest in personal development and I got to work with him through various workshops and programs around that. He was such a loving and gentle soul, but always with a mischievous glint in his eye. ;) I know how much he valued being of service in this world and how deeply he loved his family and friends.
Thank-you, Nyron, for leaving the world a better place with your legacy of love.

I have known Nyron since Laurier Days in the mid-'70's. Quick to smile or tell a joke, slow to Anger unless it was about injustice, tireless and wise in the promoting the betterment of children and social justice. A Fine Man has been lost. Condolences to his wife Mary and his children, Justin, Lisa & Jacob.

Dear Mary,Justin,Lisa,Jacob and family,
In your loss of dear Nyron, you are all in my heart more than there are words to say.
I knew him all the while he was at the agency. Ultimately, we were in the Managers'group together. How well I recall those times and the discussions we often had together. He was such a wonderful person: so passionate and compassionate, so principled and wise, invariably respectful and caring of others...and lots of fun too! I consider myself so greatly fortunate to have known (and worked) with him and will never, ever forget him, that's for sure.

I have known Nyron since he was a young man - indeed, well over half his life. He has always displayed depth of character, warmth, quiet conviction, strength and integrity, threads of which could be followed into all aspects of his life. True, he had a slightly corny sense of humour, and a smile that was never far from his lips. He enjoyed good, especially spicy food. Yes he liked playing tennis. He liked the Blue Jays. But how he ADORES his children!!! The sun rises and sets on you, Justin, and you, Lisa, and you, Jacob! That will never change. His love for you lives on in your hearts, in your memories and will live as long as you live.
Nyron had a lifelong dedication to quietly, peacefully righting wrongs in our world, especially in the lives of children and families. He wanted to bring people together who had been separated, often by systems and circumstances more powerful than they. He was innately troubled by injustice and chose peaceful instruments by which to reflect his own special light into places where more was needed.
Dearest Mary, you have lost the greatest and deepest love of your life. Know that it had to be so hard for him to go.
Much love, Anne

Nyron was a true friend and supportive colleague who embodied the best of social work and child welfare. He embraced change that he instinctively knew would be for the betterment of children and families even after he left the CCAS.
