Olive HOOD Obituary
HOOD, Olive (nee Dinn) - Passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2014 in her 89th year at the IOOF Seniors Residence. Born in Newfoundland on July 7, 1925. She was one of eleven well-loved children of Matthew and Mary-Ann Dinn from Newfoundland. Beloved by Doreen Asling (Joe - deceased), Diane Wright (John - deceased), Cathy Labelle (John) and Gordon Hood (Velma). Olive lived in Toronto and worked for the Ontario Government until her retirement. She settled in Stroud where she became very involved with her church and the Catholic Women's League. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren: Matthew Asling (Megan), Stephen Asling, Aaron (Rachel), Martin (Sarah) and Ron (Ali) Wright, Austin and Wesley (deceased) Eberlin and Andrew, Charlotte and Harry Hood. She dearly loved her great-grandchildren Emily, Joe, Chloe, Sarah and Julia Asling and Rayna Wolfson. A Mass to celebrate her life will be held at St. John Vianney Church, 13 Baldwin Lane in Barrie on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a luncheon at the church haIl. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the IOOF Seniors Home, 10 Brooks Street, Barrie, Ontario L4N 5L3 or to the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County, PO Box 1414, Barrie, Ontario L4M 5R4.
