OWEN TRUNK Obituary

TRUNK, OWEN It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest Captain Owen Braithwaite Trunk, just two days shy of his 86th birthday. Survived by his devoted wife of 65 years Dorene, daughter Val (George), sons Phil (Kris) and Brad (Carrol) and sister Mavis (Ray). Dearly loved by his grandchildren Brandy (Jason), Jennifer, Jessica and Robert. Fondly remembered by his many lifelong best friends. Owen fulfilled his dream of becoming a pilot, even purchasing his own Taylorcraft airplane. Graduating from TCA (Air Canada) to become one of their youngest captains. Owen and Dorene enjoyed many trips abroad, cruises, and weekends with family and friends. A true gentleman that never swore and always carried a smile, Owen leaves us with many wonderful memories. We wish him bon voyage on this, his final flight. Our deepest thanks to Georgian Bay General Hospital for their kindness and care. A fond memories service will be held on Thursday, February 14th at MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, 10366 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill at 7 p.m. with visitation a half an hour prior. Reception to follow. Donations can be made to the MS Society of Canada.

The Cook family are sorry that we missed this. David Robitaille let me know today (the xray fellow!).
We all have fond memories of time spent with the Trunk family. The sailboat in the basement - the Sprite sports car. Stealing his golf partners golf ball from the fairway at Richmond Hill Golf Club and getting caught. I was young but he was a good man and passed that along to his children.
I tried to call Dorene today. No answer - I gave the number to Mom who at 92 still lives on her own at 261 Gretel Dr.
Vickery and Alison send their best as well.
