Patrick Graham Obituary

PATRICK DOUGLAS GRAHAM February 4, 1919 - December 24, 2009 The family of Patrick Douglas Graham announces with deep sadness the peaceful and dignified passing of our patriarch Douglas, in his 91st year, at home in Oakville on Thursday, December 24, 2009. Doug was the beloved husband, for 65 years, of the late Margaret Anne Graham (nee McCurdy), his one true love. Doug was the 2nd of 9 children, brother to Helen, big brother to Bernice, Barbara, Gregory, Adrian, Ted, Glynn and Donald. Mr. Douglas will be greatly missed by his 3 children Gary and his wife Catherine (nee Rennie), JoAnne and her husband Paul Conlin and Candace Mahovlich. His legacy includes 8 grandchildren: Michelle, Michael and Melissa, Paul and Nancy, Peter, Jeffrey and Margaret. He was extremely proud of his 16 great- grandchildren, and was looking forward to meeting number 17 in March. Doug was a great storyteller so in lieu of flowers and in his memory, please take the time to read a child a book. Doug's zest for life was inspiring and he will remain with all of us who loved him as he leaves us with an abundance of great memories. Special thanks from the family go to Aunt Candy for the tremendous care Doug received over the last few years. Visitation will be held at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd. W., Oakville (905-844-2600), from 2-7 p.m. on Monday, December 28th. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at St. Matthew's Parish, 1150 Monks Passage, Oakville. Interment to follow at Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery. Dear Candy,
I just read your father´s obituary and wanted to offer my very belated condolences. I remember how lovely your parents were when Larry (Mickey) and I, with our son, Wade, stopped at their home for a visit on our way to Pennsylvania to visit my family. I don´t expect to hear from you, but I am at (386) 846-0175. I remember the nice friendship we had and will always cherish the time we spent together as young hockey wives.
Love,
Sharon

He was as handsome as ever when I saw him before Christmas. No one could have asked to meet and get to know a better family. Candi, your father must be very proud of you. You took amazing care of him. I will miss his stories and his smile. My condolences to you and your family - Blair
