Pauline McDERMOTT Obituary

McDERMOTT, Pauline Pauline left us, quietly and peacefully, on December 8, 2021. Predeceased by her devoted husband, Christopher McDermott (2015). Loving Mom to Eugene (Miriam), Clare (Bryan RIP), Sean, Noreen (David) and Stephen (Julie). Fun and caring Nana to Reilly (Monica), Aidan (Jessica), Kate, Lauren, Ethan and Marie. Born on June 21, 1934, in Dublin, Ireland, Pauline was a loving wife and mother, a creative homemaker, and a dedicated school secretary. She loved to laugh, sing and have a chat. She welcomed everyone into our home with open arms. Mom will be remembered for making her children's friends especially welcome. She loved her garden and being outside in the sunshine. A gentle soul with a fierce, determined spirit. She will be missed. Special thanks to the amazing staff at Revera Bough Beeches Place, Mississauga, for their tender care. Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home "Brampton Chapel", 52 Main Street South, Brampton, on Sunday, December 12th from 1 - 5 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Marguerite d' Youville Parish, 2490 Sandalwood Parkway East, Brampton, on Monday, December 13th at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery. Dear Clare and family. My deepest condolences on the death of Pauline. I had no idea. I would have definitely attended her funeral. Have had her and Sean (she asked me to pray for his health several years ago) in my prayers daily including today. I have been checking the obits periodically as I had no way of reaching her since she moved. Could no longer connect with her by phone even though I tried numerous times. I just checked obits again and there she is. All you said is so true. A wonderful couple her and dear Christy. I knew them from the Alpha group and our Pilgrimages to Steubenville. She was distraught for Christy once when she could not find him during a break at the Rally. I went looking for him as she said he had gone to the washroom a long while. She found him with great relief. She attended Mass at SMD regularly and we would see each other in the Blessed Sacrament and chat.
Take comfort in knowing that she now lies in the bosom of our Lord, and now with her beloved Christy. I will now move her and Christy to my prayers for the deceased.
