Peter Brisbois Obituary

BRISBOIS, Peter Frederick Joseph - December 28, 1941 - April 2, 2010 Peter passed away peacefully at Princess Margaret Hospital with his family at his side. He leaves his wife Anna and his three children David (Alana), Monique (Jason) and Danielle and his cherished five grandchildren: Liam, Carter, Curtis, Grant and Elliot. He will be fondly remembered by his brothers and sisters: Jane, Joe, Michael (deceased), John, Patrick, Anne, Mary and many nieces and nephews. Peter lived his whole life in the community of Leaside and as a member of the St. Anselm Parish Church. He devoted 40 years of service to Catholic Education as a Teacher and Administrator. He brought his compassion and commitment in his service to the Society of St. Vincent DePaul of St. Anselm. He grew up with the love of sport playing and coaching hockey and baseball. In his later years, he was known as a regular at the Leaside Swimming Pool. Peter lived his whole life with a sense of humour and sense of fairness. In the face of life's adversity he believed in the goodness of each day. Peter was given the gift of life in 1993 when he received a new heart. He cherished this gift and lived his life at the centre of all that was good. He was an inspiration to others and a beacon of hope to those who faced challenges. The family is forever grateful to the Toronto General Hospital Transplant team and the care coordinators. Your excellent care has given us 17 more remarkable years with Peter. The family wishes to thank the nursing staff on the 14 A and 15 A floors of PMH for the compassionate and thoughtful care Peter received. Thank you Dr. Anna. A special thank you to June from PMH spiritual care. Those that knew and loved Peter best knew that he was truly '100%'. Friends will be received at HERITAGE FUNERAL CENTRE, 60 Overlea Blvd, 416-423-1000 (entrance off Thorncliffe Pk. Dr.), Tuesday, April 6th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, April 7th, St. Anselm Roman Catholic Church, 1 MacNaughton Rd., 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the St. Anselm Society of St. Vincent De Paul. To the Brisbois family. I was saddened to hear of the loss of a husband, a father, a grandfather and a wonderful TEACHER! I was a student of Cardnial Newman Catholic School back in mid 70's and remember his sense of humour and how he always went that extra step for his students. My prayers are with you and your families at this difficult time.
