PETER KAPLAN Obituary
KAPLAN, PETER M. Dr. Peter Mark Kaplan, globally renowned Psycho-pharmacologist passed away unexpectedly in New York City on August 1, 2018. Dr. Kaplan was also an avid sportsman. He went on hunting trips to destinations ranging from the Manitoba prairies to the Alaskan tundra. At age 13, he went solo to the Northwest Territories to ice fish. Peter was the son of the renowned physicians Helen Singer Kaplan and Harold Irwin Kaplan. In addition, he was the step-son of the late Charles Lazarus, founder of Toys R Us. He is survived by his wife Andrea Karambelas of New York, NY, his son Wildon Kaplan of Montreal, QC, his brother Dr. Phillip Kaplan of New York, NY, his sister Jennifer Kaplan of Berkeley, CA and his step-mother Nancy Barrett Kaplan of Scottsdale, AZ. He will also be greatly missed by the thousands of patients he dedicated his life to helping.

Please accept my deepest sympathies. Peter was a good friend in high school.I have fond memories of him convincing me to let his St. Bernard walk me in the park.We had many good times together.
