I do remember Peter from Thompson HS, but I wish I knew him better. He was a decent fellow. I know he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. G*d be with him and those he loved

Wonderful memories of our heated class discussions in Bruce Evoy's Grade 13 English classes -- Peter & Ron Hindle arguing for the libertarian side, Carol Kruzic , myself & others pleading for socialism. We were so wise in our innocence! RIP, Peter.

I remember Peter well from my 3 years in Ms McMinn's German class at Thomson C.I. in Scarborough. Deep voice, large personality, seemed older and more worldly than the rest of us. May he rest in peace.

I think Peter Krien was born in a newsroom, his natural habitat. At The Age and at Pagemasters he was the consumate professional. Sure, he could be a bit testy while keeping us lot on our toes, but he was never nasty and could spin a great yarn. Some said his bark was worse than his bite, but I never actually heard him bark, in 20-odd years. Peter´s talent lay more in the growl, a leonine rumble that could curdle milk. Krieno was to the growl what Pavarotti was to Nessus Dorma. If Saint Peter (no relation, I´m sure) doesn´t open those gates a bit sharpish, he´ll now what I mean. RIP Krieno!

I worked with Peter for more than a dozen years at The Age and in the team he led at AAP Pagemasters. We shared a lot of hard work, notably the night of September 11, 2001. We also shared laughter. I learned a lot in his company. My condolences to his family.
