My sincere condolences to the entire Lapp family after the passing of the king of your household.

As Phil's physiotherapist since 1987, I was fortunate to learn about his family, friends and accomplishments through his wonderful stories. Always strong, (even at his weak moments), he moved through life with purpose and passion.
I will miss his detailed questions, continuous problem solving, story sharing and positive character.

Lovingly, Audrey Kouyoumdjian

My condolences to Phil's family. Phil was a tremendous addition to the Board of Directors of the Canadian Air & Space Museum in Toronto and I will miss our regular drives to Museum board meetings. Phil started his aerospace industry career working for de Havilland Canada's guided missile division in 1954 in a wartime building at Downsview Airport. The birthplace of what became SPAR later became the first home for our Museum and Phil would often recall his early work within its four walls.

Our condolences to Dave, Aimee, Doug and Colleen at the passing of your father/husband.

All of our interactions with Phil were at the cottage on Drag Lake, where we purchased a cottage after spending many great times with Dave and Char, along with Phil's generosity on the use of his boat for my sons' enjoyment.

Phil was kind gentleman who loved to hear what you were doing. He had a keen mind and seemed to always be tinkering or tweaking something, whether it was the docks, anchorages, water systems, TV system, buildings, ...

Equally, whenever a tool was required Phil had at least one of them!

I've read a couple of articles over the last few days on Phil's contribution to the Canadian Space Industry and, although I knew the key pieces of his story in the space race, I wished I'd pushed him to tell some more of those stories, an amazing life.

I was at Drag Lake this weekend when I got Dave's message and we raised a glass to toast Phil's life at a place where I believe he spent some great family and friend times over the 50 plus years, a few of which we were privileged to participate.

Phil and I worked closely together at York for many years. I enjoyed every minute, including the bad bits. What a decent, intelligent and good natured friend we've lost.

Sorry to hear of Phil's passing.
It brings back many memories of our years at Malvern C.I. and later when we both attended M.I.T. While there Phil & Bunnie lived in the same house in Cambridge Ma. as my wife and I. We shared lots of good times together!(1953-55)

My condolences to Colleen and all of Phil's family members. Over the many years I worked with Phil I got to see the brilliance for which he is so well known and respected. But it was his human side - both the kindness and the fun loving joie de vivre - that I will always remember. He will be missed but always remembered by his many friends and industry colleagues.

I am thinking about all the times I spent at the Lapp family cottage, from my first visit in 1963 with David and Phil right up to the last visit when Phil was there a couple of years back. I was always amazed by Phils work ethic he just kept on going from the time he arrived until it was time to go, I now know how David got his non stop lifestyle. I would like to express to Colleen and David Doug and Aimee on behalf of Wendy and I our deepest sympathy's and we hope to hear many stories of Phil's life over the next while because there was alot of life packed into the 85 yrs that Dr. Lapp spent among us.
