I first met Phyllis in Regina in the 50's and I recall square- dancing sessions at Kitchener P.S. Our connection continued until this year. Truly a remarkable woman who epitomized the dedication of a commited educator.

I was lucky to call Phyllis my friend. She was one tough cookie and I know she is at peace now.

I first met "Aunie Phyl" Christmas 1999 when she was staying at her sister Shirley`s place and I was dating her niece(my wife) Janis Leone. After a "feeling out" process Auntie Phyl and I would have some wonderful and in depth talks about any and all subjects of the world, where she would tell me of her travels and her experiences. From the first moment I met her I respected and admired her and always looked forward to her next visit to Winnipeg so we could have yet another great visit. I will miss our visits and the ensuing talks we had and will forever remember her and never forget her. Love you Auntie Phyl

I was so pleased to be able to find Phyllis and share thoughts on my visit to Toronto in June 2012. Phyllis always welcomed my family whenever we came to Toronto and we spent good times in our garden in England. She was, in my youth and will always be, as I grow older, an inspiration to me .
My thoughts at this sad time are with her family , although I never had the chance to meet them.
