Q.C. CIPIN Obituary

CIPIN, Q.C., REUBEN At the age of 90, surrounded by family, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 3, 2018 at the Albert and Temmy Latner Family Palliative Care Unit at Bridgepoint Active Healthcare in Toronto. Reuben was predeceased by his wife Donna Z"L. He is survived by his wife Sharyn and his children - Jeff and Aviva, Jacqui, Caralyn, Marla and Aubrey Dan, and Jennifer and Greg Tugg, his grandchildren Dina, Elana, Alyse, Danya, Myles, and Yona, and his sister-in-law Roz. He will be fondly remembered by Sharyn's children and grandchildren and his numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins spanning several generations. Reuben was born and raised in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia with his three brothers and sister. He had a long and successful law career in Edmonton, Alberta where he and Donna raised their family. Reuben served on the Board of the Talmud Torah and was President of Beth Shalom Synagogue in Edmonton. The family would like to thank the numerous PSWs, nurses, doctors and nurse practitioners who assisted him so compassionately throughout the final year of his journey. Their care made a difference. To all grieving family & friends of Reuben my family wished to express our sincerest condolences.

Ethan, Tomas & myself were with Reuben @ the Goldstein's on several occasions and he always seemed a very happy soul. He was always warm & kind. I hope that at this time he is at peaceful rest & if indeed there is an afterworld of sorts he is fully restored in all the ways g-d intends.

Life is not complete without some grief, but it is also not complete without some resonance of sweet conentedness. If we have come this far we can agree that Reuben's existence has encompassed this.
