Rachel Kamien Obituary

KAMIEN, Rachel (Rae) - Following a lengthy illness on April 23, 2011, Rachel (Rae) Kamien passed away at North York General Hospital. Born in Poland in 1922, she was a true survivor throughout her long life. Predeceased by her beloved husband Louie. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Anna Leich, Myron Leich, Molly and Stanley Naftolin, Michael and Shawna. Devoted grandmother of Jeffrey Leich (Cindy), Shari Tepperman (Warren), Heather Brandes (Josh), Jillian Naftolin, Jonathan and Alex Kamien. Adored by her great-grandchildren David, Amy, Owen, Riley, Lauren and Emily. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, April 27 at Or Shalom Synagogue, 534 Huron Street, London, Ontario at 1:00 p.m., Rabbi Ammos Chorny officiating. Following interment, family and friends are invited to join the family at Or Shalom Synagogue. Shiva will be observed at Anna's home in London at 405 Sugarcreek Trail, Apt. 113. Evening services at 7:30 p.m. Shiva will also be observed by Michael and Molly at 80 Ventura Way, Thornhill beginning Thursday until Sunday. Services at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. The family wishes to acknowledge the compassionate care Rae received at L'chaim Retirement Home in Toronto, with our sincere thanks to Raulda, her special caregiver. Memorial donations can be made to Parkinson Society Canada or the charity of choice. LOGAN FUNERAL HOME, 371 Dundas Street, 519-433-6181, entrusted with arrangements.
