Ralph is sorely missed at the Beeton VON adult day program. He always had a smile on his face and made every client feel included. I will miss how much he loved to dance and even how he would pick out all the good looking women in the magazines every single morning during the coffee social. He was the first client I met when I started working at the VON and it gave me the best first impression possible of my new job. I miss him every day I go into work. He was so much fun to be around. My deepest condolences to Ralph's family.

I knew Ralph through the Beeton Adult Day Program, and it was an absolute pleasure having him with us. He would always have a smile on his face, was such a gentleman wanting to always push his chair in, asking staff to always sit next to him and pull out the chairs for us. Ralph was someone who was so caring in how other people may be feeling and making sure everyone was included. I got to say that his favourite thing at the program was the active games. I know that he will be missed at the program, and I would like to send my condolences to the family and that they are in my thoughts.

My Grandfather was a man who touched many lives with his beautiful smile and his kind nature. Two years ago my Gumpy started a day program for seniors. He'd wake up at 5am (sometimes 4) for his 9 o'clock ride...that's how much he enjoyed going...."I have to go to work" he'd say. It was really cute and we'd laugh thinking he really thinks he's going to work and no one could tell him any different.

Last year my mom was invited to a party at this same senior centre. When she arrived, she was welcomed by a lady who worked there. This lady happen to point my mom to where my Grandfather sat and there he was talking and laughing away to another senior.

My Mom was truly touched however not surprised at what she said next

"That man sitting with your father, sits in that same spot day in and day out without saying a single word to anyone. Before your Dad came here he looked liked a lost soul, it was very sad to say the least. Then your Father started and the moment he did; he walked right over to where he was sitting and began talking to him. Your Father would laugh and pat his shoulder and even though he never replied or laughed back, Ralph sat with him everyday" she continued to tell my mom that it was like my grandfather knew this man needed a friend and he took him under his wing.

It all makes perfect sense; his job was not physical labour....he was needed to brighten someone's day and that's just who he was.

So not only will "we" his family miss him dearly, so will everyone who's heart he touched.

Love you forever Gumpy
