I have been searching for years for Randy and other long lost family. I am his cousin. I am saddened to have found him here. RIP. If any of you here see this and can share any info about his family still living, please contact me. We are a but a few of a dying breed! I just found a photo of Randy and his mom this week! How ironic I found him also. :(

Was shocked to learn of Randy's passing. I was Randy's grade 8 teacher at the old St. Michael's elementary school on Bond Street. He often missed classes because his life already was so busy . And Randy was always the smartest guy in the room.... including his teacher. So glad he had such a rich and interesting life.

Randy, I am still lost for words. I keep replaying our last conversation over in my head and asking you if you missed me when I went out and started the car. If I had only known it would be me missing you. Randy it has been a pleasure having you in my life these last 10 years, and the last 4 have been interesting with out a dull moment in them. I hope you enjoy your next journey and hold nothing back. You will always be in my heart, and I will forever be grateful for the memories and the stories you have told. OX

Randy...words fail to describe the sadness I feel at your passing. The years rolled past and we lost touch, but you always remained deep in my heart. Thank you for making me a part of your wild and crazy life for all those years. I enjoyed the ride (well most of it). May your journey on the other side be filled with lots of adventures, crazy rants and lots of blank canvasses for you to paint on. Bon Voyage Ran xo

Randy, to have known you was a great pleasure. To say that we shared some fabulous fun times together is an understatement. Rest in good piece my dear friend, enjoy the journey....I hope that you get to meet Francis Bacon and all those other artist who's work you admired. You leave behind endless memories and some crazy stories.

Randy, you were one of a kind and the world will be much more boring without you. Advertising, certainly, suffers from an absence of characters like you, and we are all poorer for it.

Randy - I too will forever miss your wonderful rants ... the pages will be empty without your fabulous talents displayed whenever you shared one of your pieces with us ... Its impossible to believe that you've "left the group" but we can look back and re-read some of your thoughts so we may continue to laugh along with you ... your departure leaves a gaping hole in our daily readings ... I'd like to say thanks for everything but it seems lame and I think you'd just jump all over a comment like that ... so hopefully you are looking over at our U.S. neighbours and are prepared for a very good laugh on Friday when your favorite subject takes the controls down there ... farewell old chum and fellow OCA Grad ... you are missed deeply already - JG

Randy we first met in front of Boris' Coffee House in the winter of 1967/68. My friends and I would hang out with you and the Scottish mods at Boris' Coffee House from the late 60s until the early 1970s. Although we hadn't seen each other since then, we had interacted on Facebook and via email. I will always remember you when I wear the Avenooer t-shirt you designed. May you Rest In Peace

The world will be a less controversial, less colorful, less artistic place and a more compliant place with Randy's untimely passing. There is no doubt about the silence that has been cast upon it. I miss the noise. I miss the energy. I miss the point of view! How bloody boring this place will be now! A treasured, always welcome vibrant voice has disappeared, one always fighting for the good things in our souls, reminding us of the darkness that lurks close by, and reminding us with wit and sharp, insightful daggers, forever on target, always consistent, not to mention his never ending creative gifts and talents! Caio Pal, thanks for the 70's and the last five years. You were and remain inspiring! I hope to see you out there with Harry and few more of the boys in time, Bere

So glad to have known you Randy. It's been years since I've seen you but I feel lucky to have worked with you on Safeway TV spots back in the Palmer Jarvis days here in Vancouver. I had many good times drinking pints with yourself, Alan Russell & Tim Kelly.

Two ships that pass on darkened nigh
A quell before the storm.
Much too brief we meet as one
Together, a single form.

Amid threatening seas by chance we meet
Together under twilight skies.
Two ships of hope under friend sail
Alas, we must wave goodbye.

Rest in peace old friend.

Randy, I was so shocked and saddened by your passing and feel as though there is now a huge void in our Yorkville group. Although we never met personally, I felt as though you were a great friend.
I'll miss your rants, your beautiful artwork, and incredible sense of humour and wit. Just to see "NOW NOW" posted on my fb page once more would be a gift.
Rest In Peace Randy ❤

Randy, you were always kind, but brook no nonsense when called for. I remember you almost solely from Yorkville Villages web page. Despite your sparse appearances on the page, they were indelibly memorable. I will never forget the time, when, I had created a controversy by citing opinions objectionable to many. You came to my defense, with a comment I'll never forget, "Bill seems likes a nice enough guy, a litte verbose, but decent." *chuckle* I loved that, honest and brave enough to speak his mind, but not with any hint censure of freedom of speech. That will always burn in my brain, as precious. God bless you Randy. Forever missed, by even lowly me, whom you never disparaged so easily, if decided to go with the crowd. R.I.P <3

Although I never met Randy personally, his passing has affected me deeply. I always looked forward to his posts on FB. Whether he was ranting on some topic, posting examples of his artwork, sharing his views on the evilness of cats or just teasing me about something, I enjoyed each and every one. He will be missed.

First met Randy back in the late 60s and then we briefly lived in same house on Washington Ave in the 70s. Had many laughs when we were both younger. He was an incredible illustrator. Most recently I have been awe-struck by his political passions. Go get 'em Randy!

There was nothing ordinary about Randy ... extraordinary in every way. A simple Facebook comment was never droll, but always exciting, something to look forward to, that would make me snicker and make me feel like a million bucks! Oh, the yarns he could spin! "... some people just have it, others try ... but, just not there... he had 'IT'....Bad !" He will be so missed, by so many.
