RAYMOND COHEN Obituary

RAYMOND DAVID COHEN Raymond passed away on March 22, 2013, leaving us all too early. He is sadly missed by his loving wife Michelle, devoted children Chris (Betty) and Reneta, beloved grandchildren Emma and Lauren, siblings Michael Cohen (Penny), Joan Sinclair (Douglas), the late Sheila Ruttner (Harry), nephews, nieces, cousins and friends; his parents, Henry Cohen and Margaret Tuteur predeceased him. We all knew Raymond to be a brilliant, compassionate man of superior integrity. He devoted 27 years to the creation and survival of the Canadian Abilities Foundation, Abilities Magazine (CAF). Through this essential vehicle, he used his extraordinary gifts to bring people together collaboratively to serve the needs of people with disabilities. We, on behalf of Raymond's legacy, CAF, would be most appreciative of donations to: www.canadahelps. org/CharityProfilePage.aspx? CharityID=d37934 A celebration of his life is being planned for early June.

Still missed greatly. He would want everyone to live in peace and quiet harmony. Wish he were here to say these things himself. Loved by Mike and Penny.

We were shocked to hear of Ray's passing. We worked together on funding for the kick start to the magazine and maintained contact since. His smiling face will be missed at the People in Motion Show this week where he was a fixture as an advocate and person who cared about all others. All the best to you Michelle and the rest of the family.

I am saddened to hear of Ray's passing. I knew Raymond in 1972 and work with him as he set up Alternatives in Montreal. Unfortunately, our paths did not cross again. He was a kind and creative young man; I imagine he only got more interesting and compassionate with age.

I am saddened to hear this news. My sympathies to Ray's family and friends. Ray and I were friends in Vancouver in the late '70s/early '80s. Connected again in Toronto over occasional coffees during the past 10 years. We will miss his humour and intelligence and that ever-present twinkle in his eye.

I know Ray since 1974 when we worked at the Alternatives Program in Montreal - and spoke to him last on Skype on March 14th. I am so deeply saddened by the news I got tonight of his passing. He was a loving man; a creative being; and a true friend. Heartfelt sympathies to you all.
