Raymond SEMKIN Obituary

SEMKIN, Raymond Garry Ray, age 70, passed away at Michael Garron Hospital on February 28th with his daughters Jessica and Kristy by his side. Loving brother to Joanne; cousin of Madeline, Candy and Penny; uncle to Bonnie, Siobhain, Patrick and Aishlinne. Even in his last days, Ray was joking with the nurses. He was a proud Beacher to the end. We are grateful to Dr. Joshi and the nursing staff for their compassionate care. The visitation will occur on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 1-3 p.m. at Trull Funeral Home, 1111 Danforth Ave. Funeral services will be on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.

My deepest condolences to Jessica, Kristy and family. As a colleague for about 10 years, I had the privilege and pleasure to get to know Ray's kind, gentle and jovial nature. His very amusing, unique and unfailing sense of humour brightened our days with fun and laughter. God Bless you Ray and your family,

Words cannot describe how sad I am. My cousin, my friend...no more sitting on the veranda people watching and talking about the good old days. You drew people to you like a magnet with your sense of humour, and I was one of them. It's a sad, sad day for those you left behind. Love you forever!

Memories of a younger Ray - Malvern classes, blue and brown shopping at Studio 267, smelt fishing and walks on the Boardwalk, music room at Wymilwood, Expo 67, classes at UofT. Memories of an older Ray - unchanged ironic and irreverent sense of humour that has touched so many. You'll be very deeply missed.

I was truly saddened to hear of Ray's passing, he was always great fun to be around with his sense of humor and personality. He truly was a kind soul.
I had the privilege of working with Ray in the field a couple of times at Amituk Lake and the Sault, but also had a 30+year career with him at ECCC.
God Bless you Ray and your family. We will miss you.

Condolences to Jessica and Kristy and family. Ray was loved by many and shared laughs with us all. From his special baloney breakfasts while camping at the Pinery to his joyful curious and observant self, Ray was a true delight and friend. God Bless.
