Reginald Cooper Obituary

REGINALD JOHN COOPER December 28, 1920 - January 24, 2010 At Georgetown Memorial Hospital in his 90th year. Reg Cooper will be greatly missed by his wife Margaret Cooper, who is now residing at the Bennett Centre in Georgetown. Beloved father to Dan Cooper of Oakville and his brother Larry Cooper of Calgary and father-in-law to their wives Debbie Cooper and Keri Peacock. Loving grandfather to Lauren and Jeff of Oakville and Katelyn and Sarah of Calgary. After serving in the Second World War with the RCAF, he settled in Toronto where he met and married Margaret O'Hearn. Reg worked for years in the aircraft industry with Orenda Engines and Avro Aerospace, which took him on many adventures overseas. From there he went into real estate sales where he built up a steady business in both farming and estate properties. This allowed him to pursue an even bigger dream which involved moving his family to a large farm property in 1969. Reg raised specialty livestock as a hobby and his passion for the farm and the work it entailed seemed to keep him focused and driven well into his mid 80's. As per Dad's wishes, there will be no formal funeral, but a celebration of his life on his farm in the coming summer. Any donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Reg Cooper.

Sorry to hear about your Dad's passing. Your mom had told me he was sick, but I guess his illness progressed quickly. I stopped by to see your mom at Bennett center and will continue to do so.

Auntie Marg, Dan & Larry; it's sad that it only seems to be at times like this that we think of each other. I have so many fond memories of days spent together at your house in the summer. Our best to all of you.
