Another birthday is passed approaching. Saturday, August 9, 2014. 92 years ago you came into this world. Wow! The last couple of years have been rough. Dad, you have always taught us that courage can be quiet, strength can be gentle and honesty counts a lot. All of which are true. Today is sunny and overcast, which duplicates how my heart feels today. I have self confidence and know who I am thanks to you and Mom. As a parent, you have shown us how to appreciate life and that happiness comes our way in whatever we choose to do. A parent makes sacrifices for their family.Hope Faith and Love are what has been given to us. It is now up to us to use the tools that were provided to all of your children. Please know that you are special, in our thoughts, in our minds and in our hearts. Love you and miss you. Karen

June 15, 2014 - Fathers Day

Dear Dad,
Your example has given me footsteps to follow. Your love has given me wings to fly. Your spirit will always be a part of me wherever I go. Thinking back to the days when we were young, our relationship grew to include more responsibilites, freedom and love.
Overthe years our bond created has taken on a richer dimension and has developed a greater gratitude for the wonderful father you were to us (Mike, Dan, Susan and Me). You taught us that the most accomplished person learns from both failure and sucess. The strongest leadership knows how to follow as well. Asking for help can sometimes be the best thing one can do. The wisest person is one who takes a look within and to learn from where ever they have been. I believe the one who attempts all this has the heart and soul that it takes to be a great person. You and Mom were everything parents could be, despite the hardships you lived through out your lives. I am so proud of you for being my Dad and for Mom being my Mom it is sometimes hard to put into words.

I miss you. I did not make it to the cemetar today as Ivan is far too ill to be left alone. I will be there shortly so please forgive my lateness. Love to all. Your loving daughter Karen.

It is hard to believe another year has gone by. I sit by the window and watch the stars glitter and wonder how you are. Birthday wishes are give by all. The Grand kids are growing. Cheyenne was asking me questions just the other day. We looked over the photo album and all kinds of memories swept over me. The grand kids are grown up. You would be so proud of Matthew. He was accepted at Queens University! He is going to be a Sports Doctor. We are showing him around campus soon. Miss you. The years have gone by so fast. So much has changed in our lives. Some good, some bad. Birthday cake was had by all. Will be visiting you and mom soon. Your light shines bright all through the night. Love you. Karen

Monday November 5, 2012 The third Anniversary of your passing.

Dear Dad.....It is hard to believe it has been three years today. I left a poppy for you. I miss you. While I was travelling the Highway of Hero's today, thoughts flooded in. Through laughter and tears I remember all the times we shared. Tea parties, movies, card games, picnics, holidays. The Laroque family misses you as well. The Grand Kids and Great Grand Kids are growing. The family dynamics have changed so much. I miss the family, The Christmas Holidays, Thanks Giving...it seems everything has changed. I miss our talks, our late night dinners, card games, shopping and our long phone conversations. It is so hard Dad......but I know you are free of pain and suffering. Ivan will be joining you soon. He has put up a brave fight. He says he learned a lot from you. He understands now my devotion. God will never give us more than we can handle. Well, best I go for now. Will be in touch soon. Love you Dad with all my heart and soul. Karen, Ivan, Mike & Chris, Cheyenne, Matthew, Kassandra and Kayla,Alecia and Samantha.

Love you.......

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
