Rita Ermelinda Manna

RITA ERMELINDA MANNA, MSW January 29, 1957 - November 8, 2010 'Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. She will do good... All the days of her life.' -Proverbs 31:10, 12 Devoted mother of Jacob; beloved sister of Tony (Margaret), Nick (May), Mike and Anne-Marie (Tom). She will be missed and warmly remembered by her nieces and nephews; cherished friends Margaret and Owen (God- parents of Jacob) and Eugene and Annie. Predeceased by her parents, Pasquale and Cristina. Rita was a long time employee of the Catholic Children's Aid Society where she worked with many special and caring people. Rita and her family wish to thank everyone for their support and prayers, especially Princess Margaret staff (Chemo Day Clinic, and Floors 16B and 17B), and Baycrest Hospital staff (6 W). Rita's life has been a gift to all who met, knew, and loved her. She was very fond of the Bob Marley song, 'One Love'; think of her the next time you hear it. 'As for me, I am already being poured out as a libation, and the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. From now on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing.' -2 Timothy 4:6-8 Friends will be received at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., Toronto, at Windermere Ave., east of Jane subway (www.turnerporter.ca) from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday. Her family and many friends will join together in celebrating Rita's life and memory with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 2305 Bloor St. W. on Thursday, November 11, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Thornhill.
