ALIE, Robert Arthur Joseph December 11, 1932 - May 18, 2022 Born in Hull, Québec to Ida Alie (née Guénette) and Arthur Alie; brother to Gerald Alie and Rolande Gibson (née Alie). Passed away peacefully at home, with his beloved wife of 61 years, Eileen Alie (nee Morrison), by his side, by whom he will be dearly missed. Loving father of Vivian Alie, Carolyn Alie and husband Dr. Dennis Dionne. Grandpa Bob to Gabrielle and Alexandre Dionne. A celebration of his life will be held at the family cottage in Lantier, Québec in mid summer. There once was a man from Hull Whose life was anything but dull He could sing he could dance Knew how to romance And no one could resist his pull From piano to trumpet He was never a puppet Knew how to create Didn't mind a mistake And always stayed in the pocket From models big and small He sure could build them all Be it a cottage or a train A boat or a plane It all started in Montreal Once at the lake he never took a break There were bonfires to build, boats to fix Gas tanks to fill and Caesars to mix An afternoon nap he never would take So instead blew his horn to fire up the lake From the day he was born Music was in his life And so through the years But most certainly through our tears We will still hear his horn Playing on from dusk til morn Two daughters and a wife Made his family complete A son-in-law and grandchildren made it all the more sweet.
