ROBERT BARKER Obituary

BARKER, ROBERT "BOB" October 10, 1937 - August 30, 2020 Beloved husband of over 50 years to Sandra, Bob also leaves brother John (Debbie), children Leslie and Geoff (Michelle) and grandchildren Bryn and Rhys. He will be lovingly remembered by all his family and friends. Following a lifetime passion for golf, he found some hazards on the back nine but continued to enjoy his round and walked off the 18th green with a smile on his face. Sitting in the 19th hole enjoying a wobbly-pop, he will look back on his round fondly, remembering lots of good times and laughs. Cremation has taken place.

Sandra, Leslie, Geoff my deepest condolences. The memories are too many to count, though I fondly recall him asking Karen and I if he should call the CNIB for us, to see if our dates were ready! He was always ready with a zinger and he will be missed. Stay strong.

I met Bob when I was at Vickers and Benson and Bob was with Mono Lino. Bob was without question the best 'salesman' I ever met. And I took over his apartment with Ron Adams at 99 Ridelle Ave when Bob 'settled down.' I will miss Bob's stories and the way he told them. He was 'one of a kind'.

It is hard for me to believe that my old public school, high school and Cedar Brae golf club chum is gone. He always made everyone around him laugh. I never heard him say anything that wasn’t complimentary and never heard anyone say anything but good things about him. We met at Bowmore Road public school when we were both less than ten years old. Sandra, he will be missed.

My sincere sympathy, Sandra, for your loss. I'm glad he continued to golf and you had so many happy years together.
