ROBERT CARRUTHERS Obituary

ROBERT ORVILLE CARRUTHERS 1927 - 2014 Rob died peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital on Friday, April 18, 2014. Beloved husband of Beverley for 62 years and the proud father of Gayle (Bruce), Barbara (David) and Jill (Roy), grandfather to 6 and great-grandfather to 4, all of whom added sparkle and pride to his life. He is also survived by brother Bruce and sisters Nancy and Cathey. Rob was a B. Comm graduate, Victoria College, University of Toronto and worked in various executive positions during his life. He was active at church, loved golf and foremost, his family. He was a pillar of support for all of us, always optimistic and upbeat, with a twinkle in his eye. He will be sorely missed by his extended family as well as many friends in Toronto and Sarasota. Memorial service at Fairlawn Avenue United Church, 28 Fairlawn Ave., on Thursday, April 24th at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sunnybrook Hospital Foundation.

Bev,
Very sorry to hear about Bob. I know he had some difficult times while I was there, but h always had a cheerful face. I hope the last couple of years have not been too hard. In any case thinking of you as you voyage this difficult transition. Thankfully you have lots of friends.

Bev and family, I was sorry to learn of the death of Bob. It is never easy at these times but I do hope you will support each other, cherish great memories and find comfort and peace as time goes on.
