THE REV. DR. ROBERT BRYCELAIN CRAIG 1916-2009 Passed away peacefully at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, with his wife by his side, on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the age of 93. Born in Glasgow, Scotland; son of Hamilton and Sara McIntyre Craig; emigrated to Canada locating in Fort Erie, Ontario; graduate of Fort Erie High School; Albert College, Belleville; McMaster University; Emmanuel College, Victoria University, after one year served in the Canadian Army Lincoln and Welland Regiment Infantry for 3 years returning to Emmanuel in 1946 to complete his theological studies 1946-1948; awarded The Very Rev. Dr. George C. Pidgeon scholarship for post-graduate study in Edinburgh University, New College; awarded gold medal for his Thesis on Divisions in the Church of Scotland; returned to Canada to serve in Sudbury Presbytery Coniston, Garson, Falconbridge; called to First United Church, St. Thomas, Ontario, where he served for 12 years; called to Trinity United, Peterborough, while there privileged to have been chosen by The United Church to serve as Commissioner for Church Union from 1968-1975 travelling coast to coast and abroad with Canon R.R. Latimer; chosen by Anglican Church to promote unity between Anglican and the United Church and the Church of Christ Disciples; in 1975, when union negotiations ceased, Bob was called to Humbercrest United Church serving 10 years until retirement; then called to Humber Valley United Church as associate to Rev. Bruce Roberts; a life of service and devotion to the Church he loved and its people. He leaves his beloved wife Phyllis, daughter Susan (Chris deBoer), son Robert (Karen), grandchildren Jonathan, Katy, and Samantha. Dear brother-in-law of Wanda Sutton. Dear uncle of Lynda (Phil) and family, Janet (Larry) and family, Margaret Coffey, and David Coffey (Donna). Cousin of Philip Wright (Beth) and family, as well as his cousins in Scotland. Predeceased by his parents, sister Greta, and brother-in-law Victor Sutton. Life is the gift of love and ours for the taking. Special thanks to Dr. Williams, Chaplain Wes Roberts and the staff of Sunnybrook Veterans Wing, for their care and kindness. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street W., at Windermere, east of the Jane subway, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to be held at Humbercrest United Church, 16 Baby Point Road, on Monday, April 20, 2009 at 2 p.m. Private interment to be held at St. George's Churchyard. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Humbercrest United Church or to Humber Valley United Church.

Dear Phyllis and family,

Dear Phyllis,

Dear Phyllis,
I am so glad that I have come across this notice today. My sincere condolences to you and your family. I have such wonderful memories of you in Peterborough with my Mom and Dad, and even in Huntsville on occasion while I was at camp!
I think you have had a long journey towards this day, and I know that you will share the peace that Bob has found.
I will be thinking of you as you get through the next few days.
