In Denym's younger years, Uncle Bobby to Dyer was a chef, musician and Denym's fun dad. He was part of our family for many good years. From singing and dancing at Clevelands House to spending countless Saturday afternoons chasing the chickens and laughing at the "big fat pig" at the Riverdale Zoo. Bobby was always looking for ways to entertain Dyer & Den.

We think of you often.

My most deepest condolences to Bobby's immediate and extended family, especially to his lovely daughter, Deynem!!!! He absolutely adored her and genuinely loved everybody in his life. I worked at several clubs, as a doorman, where Bobby would always play: The Bluenote, Tha Jarvis House, saw him for years @ the Chicken Deli, The Shamrock, Wasaga Beach and @ many other functions, with The Lincolns, Steve Ambrose, George Olliver, Roy Kenner,Grant Power and on and on. Bobby was a dynamite person singer, performer, friend, father, son, fellow musician and an awesome
person to many a stranger. That was Bobby. He lit up the room, the Clubs, people's homes, weddings and other fuctions, as he was and still is an incredible man and an amazing human being. He touched so many hearts, people, children, the elderly and the medically and mentally compromised. He was able to see the positves/strengths in everybody. We had numerous conversations over the years, that I will always cherish, as I will his incredible talent and performances. He was so potent that he would even touch Stevie Wonder's heart and numerous other R&B musicians. Bobby, you were so cool, so inspiring, so genuine, so human, so talented+++ and so well respected and loved. Buddy, I will sorely miss you and then some!!!!! R.I.P., brother!!! Sincerely, your friend, Carmen

I met Bobby while I was playing my guitar on my front porch back in 1962, he was on his way to a gig and told me he didn't have a bass player so I went along. We remained friends up until the band won the RMI contest at the CNE. I regret we lost touch after that. He was an amazing talent and a good friend.

I met Bobby back in 2009, when we were living in the same building. Bobby was a great, kind, gentle man with such a caring heart! I am so sorry to his family for their loss of this wonderful man. I have thought alot about him over the years since leaving the building and am very saddened by his passing. I will remember you always Bobby and how kind you were to me and my children..and I will always remember the talks we had on my balcony. God Bless!

How very sad, I just decided to google Bobby Dupont to see what he was up to these days only to find he had passed. He used to be one of my favourite performers back in the 80's. I saw him so many times that when I came upon him one day at Manta Sound where I worked, I went up to him and said 'Hi Bobby' and he looked at me like 'do I know you'......I felt like I knew him because I had seen him perform so much. My condolences to his family...I will always remember Bobby as one of my favourite crushes!

I just found out today. A month after Bobby's passing. I was touched by Penny's passage. Life is so short and death is always so sudden even when expected.Bobby was a pro and anyone who ever had the opportunity to hear him belt out a Stevie Wonder tune would agree, including Stevie Wonder who would sometimes contact Bobby when he was in town. His love for Denym and the Wizard of Oz was uncanny.
I also think that Penny Blais keeping this guest book open is a very noble and honourable gesture.

I been thinking about our lives, so many good times, seems like yesterday.
How when I was little I'd follow you around everywhere. When we were at the cottage you would let me come fishing with you as long as I didnt speak as the fish would leave...humm smart... but of course you knew I would be talking about everything. How you would let me fill in for road hockey but ONLY if you were short a player. How I broke your best hockey stick and you were so mad you wanted me to move out so I tied a scarf around the end of your hockey stick put a peanut butter sandwich and a drink in it, like a cartoon, I was going to run away. You found me and said YOU were sorry and I moved back in.
How you flew in for my wedding from I dont no where by taking a boat then a small plane and you made it on time and looked so good even after that. How you surprised me with roses for my 21st birthday and sang only to me and I felt so special. How you stayed up with me for hours and hours watching Lady Diana get married, and how many times did we watched the Wizard of Oz, as little and big kids... So many more memories I am blessed with.
The last few years have all faded away Bobby.
" You are Son, brother, father, friend. There is room in the heart for all the affections, as there is room in heaven for all the stars.
Love you always Patti

It is with great sadness we heard the news of Bobby Dupont's passing. It seems like only yesterday when a couple of my friends who lived near the Chick n Deli were bragging to me about this great "new" band Sweet Blindness and their lead singer Bobby Dupont. Then some time later I heard about his joining The Royals and sharing the stage with George Olliver. I immediately when out and got the record and consider it a Canadian classic that I still listen to - to this day. Bobby you will always be remembered as a Canadian who made us RnB lovers proud and you did it with style and humility, thank you for all the memories.

So many stages and clubs you've played, where I danced for hours to Sweet Blindness and then The Royals. I remember you as a boyish man with a sweet voice - always enjoying the hell out of performing and having time to chat and laugh with us. I see through these messages that you are well-remembered and loved. I offer my deepest sympathy to your family and friends and I thank you for all the happiness and lovely memories you spread through your music.

We met around 1969, at a rehearsal hall on Duncan Street. Bobby had a smile that brightened up the room and a golden vibe. That smile and vibe was clear all through the years. Look ing at the pages of tributes here, it's clear that Bobby Dupont was a man who brought much joy to many others in his life, one of a kind. He is loved.

My memory of my cousin Bobby was meeting him when I was a teenager when he was touring in Western Canada with Sweet Blindness and visited us in Calgary. I was feeling mighty proud having my picture taken with him on our front lawn and may have boasted to a few friends that the top 40 song on the radio “Special Engagement” that they (my friends) were all busy singing and dancing to was my cousin's. I just pulled out the memory box and found some artwork from my brother Don; a poster of The Royals European Tour! My deepest condolences to Patti, Donna and Mike, it is so hard to say goodbye to a brother, and also to your families and all who were part of his life.

When we were 10 you were my backstop for years, the goalie of our Ted Reeve hockey team. when we were 14 you were the front Man of our band the Statlers (those pock-a-dot shirts & ties, oh my!) When we were 23 you were my brother and the best Man at my wedding. The next years you were an inspiration, a creative force on our albums and a constant roommate on our tours,(we both snored too badly for any one else to be a roommates). Through the years we've shared the ups and downs of a life lived LARGE. Too many memories, so many things to reflect on. We are here only a moment in time. May we share many more moments in the future. See you again my brother. Go in LOVE

I remember when Bobby would come to visit at Grandpas house on Shudell, He would call my dad from a car phone in a limo parked out front. My dad thought this was just amazing, first that you could make a phone call from a car, the most amazing part for him was that a Celebrity like Bobby would call him from a car, Bobby never forgot his family, and your family will never forget you. Rest Well your cousin Kenneth

I remember such wonderful times with Bobby, Penny and Denym. He loved visiting our cottage - fishing, partying, great BBQ's... And when visiting in Toronto, he cooked us fantastic food and entertained us with his great sense of humour and generous spirit. Watching him play with Denym, cooking with her showed me how much he loved her always. Rest in peace my friend.

I too am a Beacher and I knew Bobby off and on from an early age even as he was starting his music career, we would always have a quick chat and he always posessed that wonderful warm smile. When I finished playing (Bond) I worked for a time for the management firm (Franklin House) who looked after Sweet Blindness and I got to see them on quite a few occasions, great music and great times. You will be sadly missed Bobby and my heartfelt wishes to your family, friends and loved ones.
