Robert Ewert Obituary
With profound sadness, our family announces the death of Robin on June 12, 2016 after a brief illness. Loving husband of Barbara and father of Robyn and Heather and brother of Susan. Special companion of Shelby and Bailey. Much loved, he will be greatly missed by his brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Many thanks to the wonderful care at the Trillium Health Centre. Special thanks to dear friend, Dr. Howe Sim as well as the medical, nursing and care staff. Dr. Ewert enjoyed a 40-year career as a family physician, emergency doctor and coroner. In all these years, he touched thousands of lives; friends, family, co-workers and patients. He will be greatly missed. Friends may call at THE SIMPLE ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL CENTRE, 1535 South Gateway Rd., Mississauga (Dixie Rd., 2 lights south of Eglinton Ave., 905-602-1580), on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 from 6-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Trillium Health Partners Foundation or Etobicoke General Hospital would be appreciated. Barb, we just found out about Dr. Ewert's passing! So shocked!! May he rest in peace! He was an amazing doctor to our family since early 1980's. He was not just a doctor to us, but also part of our family. He will never be forgotten and always in our prayers. Barb, you too are also in our thoughts. Barb, I am so glad to have this opportunity to pay my respects to the memory of Dr Ewert. I send my deepest sympathy for you and your family. even at this late date. My daughter Julie saw Dr. Ewert regularly and she too was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. T required few appointments with the good doctor. Late last year, however, I became ill. Having to find and meet with a new GP, I was quickly reminded of the day I chose
Dr. Robert as our doctor. He was well-known as a fine diagnostician, what one needs in a GP. I am still awaiting a diagnosis and evey day this reminds me how much I miss Dr. Ewert.

Hi, Barb.
I just read about Robin in the OMA Council documents that list all the physicians who have passed in the last year.
Please accept my belated condolences. I haven't worked at EGH for a while but I'll remember the many encounters I had with Robin as well as when we were together socially.
His calm and relaxed manner and somewhat quirky sense of humour are all things I will remember.
I hope you have found peace in your memories of Robin.

Robin was a truly wonderful Doctor and kind,compassionate man. I enjoyed working with him in the Emergency Dept at EGH and always admired his calm professionalism during those chaotic shifts.

Dear Barb:
We only heard this morning (Sept.16) that Dr. Ewert had passed over. My deepest condolences to you and your family. I immediately thought of you, remembering the time we first met, when you came to the practice, to assist before the practice wound down. My daughters Julie and Deborah also send there best regards in remembering him kindly. Julie, especially, was a steadfast patient, having very regular appointments. Only this week, she said, "Dr. Ewert would know what this rash is on my chin". I remember our first chat and, if I remember rightly, I had mentioned how Robin became our GP. After many years of working with "medical men", I sought out the best GP. It was an HRL at Etobicoke General who told me was the best diagnostician, and would be a great GP - something everyone needs in a physician. That's how we came to Dr. Ewert. We are so sad he is no longer with us and I personally wish I had been a better patient! Love and all best wishes to you Barb, and peace to your family and those who knew Dr. Ewert.

I just heard today, that Dr. Ewert had passed away. I cannot tell you how sad I am at the news. He had been my doctor for almost 40 years, and such a caring person.
Barb, please accept my most sincere condolences.
My last visit was in April, just before he retired and I will truly miss him

Believe me! I've proved Him over and over,

When I didn't know where next to turn,
It was He who showed me the way.

There are no words to take away your pain, but please know that Dr. Ewert was held in high esteem by many, many people who's life's he touched.
