Mr. Palmer was my art teacher for most of my years at SSS. He always encouraged and inspired me to expand my imagination and creativity, never setting limitation on what was possible and for this I am truly grateful. I can just imagine all the wondrous things Mr. P will inspire in the heavens above

Mr. Palmer was someone whom a lot of his former students will not forget. His approach to everyone's individuality of their art technique and interest was one that stays with you. When you talk about art or discuss Streetsville Secondary School; his name is always found in the conversations. Even many years later. He had a way about him that showed a sincere interest in his students' lives, and not just around education. He will be thought of and missed by many. My sincere condolences to his family.

Rob definitely touched many people throughout his life. May he rest in peace and his family find comfort in knowing he touched many hearts.

Mr. Palmer was my homeroom teacher for several years at SSS during the early 80's. He was endlessly patient with our antics, always smiling, never harsh - a true gentleman. He was also a passionate and devoted artist, who dedicated his career to cultivating, nurturing and encouraging genuine creativity in his students. Between Mr. Palmer and my mentor Bruce Dowdell, I was able to find solace and self-expression in art during those very trying and turbulent years known as adolescence. I am terribly saddened to hear of his passing. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. I hope you will take some comfort in knowing that he touched more lives in a positive way than even he could ever have imagined. He made art relevant to students who might otherwise have had a much more limited view of the world and its beauty. There can be few greater gifts....Deepest sympathies, XX

My condolences. Mr. Palmer was also my high school art teacher. I was a scatterbrained, and emotionally uneven teen then, but I remember how non-judgmental and patient he was with me.

To Rob's family. Rob and I met at McMaster and in 1968 we lived together in the infamous Estate in Dundas for a year with 3 other very good friends. Rob and I were roommates in the Estate and we shared many fun and unforgettable times over that year and beyond. Rest in peace Rob.
