ROBERT TROTMAN Obituary

ROBERT LESLIE (LES) TROTMAN March 15, 1920 - November 1, 2014 Passed away peacefully in Oakville, ON at the age of 94. Devoted husband of 64 years to Margaret (nee Brown). Most loving Dad to Carol, Debbie (Dan), David (Shelley). Beloved Poppa to Leigh-Ann (Stephen), Meredith (Brad), Michelle (Randy), Ian (Jen), Alyse (Matt), Hannah and Ben. Adoring Great-Poppa to Hayden. Dear brother to late Kenneth Trotman (Doreen) and the late Eric Trotman of England. Born in England, he volunteered with the British 8th Army Royal Signals Corps for duty with Allied Forces in WWII. Much of his 6 years was spent in the North Africa campaign. After WWII, Les returned to England where he married his beloved Marg and they settled in Richmond Hill, ON. Les was instrumental in co-founding the Richmond Hill Soccer Club, Girls Division and volunteered at the Bowmanville Hospital. He retired from the North York Board of Education and together they enjoyed many years of retirement at Wilmot Creek, in Bowmanville, ON. A Celebration of Life will be held in his honour on Sunday, November 9, 2014, from 2-5 p.m. at the Harbour Banquet Centre, 2340 Ontario St., Oakville, ON. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army. "Some dream of what they might do in life; others stay awake and act."
