ROBIN DAVIES Obituary

DR. ROBIN DAVIES After a life lived with gusto, sadly, Dr. Robin Davies passed away on Monday, July 1st, 2013 at home surrounded by his family. He was 64 years old. Robin was a dedicated physician and Chief of Staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, and longtime partner at the Oshawa Clinic. He had an incredible thirst for knowledge, read extensively, and took many interesting trips with his family to different places around the world. He was an avid golfer (member of Oshawa Golf and Curling Club) and skier, and also enjoyed many fun summers at his cottage in Bancroft teaching his children water sports and playing with his beloved standard poodles. Robin was known for his adventurous spirit and wonderful sense of humour. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in- law, uncle, cousin and friend, and will be missed by many. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Dr. M. Krzyzanowska, Dr. J. Brierley, Jennifer Petronis, Sheila Webster, and other staff at Princess Margaret Hospital; caring staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa and the Oshawa Clinic; and the St. Elizabeth nurses. To Drs. E. Brankston, R. Giroux, and D. Fitzpatrick, we will be forever grateful. Robin is survived by his wife Wendy, children Ben and Alexandra, granddaughter Robyn and siblings Pamela Haas (Werner), Lyn Zurbrigg (Ken), and Christopher Davies (Courtney). "Say not in grief, he is no more - but live in thankfulness that he was." Hebrew Proverb Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234), on Wednesday, July 3rd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, July 4th at 3 p.m. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Princess Margaret Hospital Cancer Foundation - Thyroid Cancer Research (610 University Avenue, Toronto, Ontario M5G 2M9, attention Jennifer MCCalmon); Lakeridge Health Foundation (Oshawa, Ontario); or a charity of choice. I will miss Robin,s energy, intelligence, courage and love of life. And of course his wonderful sense of humor.

I can only hope to be half the person Robin was.

And I know that whenever I think of him I will smile.

Dear Wendy, Ben, Alex and Robyn, I feel like I know you, Robin spoke so much about you on my visits to his office. He was a man with great courage, understanding and compassion beyond. I have no doubt Robin in his flesh will see God face to face. He bettered so many peoples lives. "God's figure touched him, and he slept". Thoughts and Prayers are with you at this time sorrow.
