Ron Batchelor Obituary

RON BATCHELOR Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Saturday, January 28, 2012 in his 73rd year. Loving husband of 48 years to Jan (nee Runstedler). Proud father to son David (and wife Janet) and daughter Casey. Cherished brother to Wendy Murchie and caring grandfather to Thomas and Jessica. The family sends heartfelt thanks to friends and neighbours, all caregivers (CCAC and Stonebridge) and all the doctors and nurses at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital for their gentle care, compassion and support. Based on Ron's wishes, there will be a private family service now and a Celebration of Life gathering in May 2012 (details will follow later). If you desire, memorial donations to the Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario, Alzheimer Society Oxford County or the charity of your choice may be made by contacting Ostrander's Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221), who have been entrusted with the arrangements. Personal condolences may be sent to www.ostrandersfuneralhome.com Ron felt the following poem expressed his feelings perfectly: Miss Me - But Let Me Go When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me I want no rites in a gloom filled room Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little - but not too long, And not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared Miss me - but let me go. For this is a journey that we all must take And each must go alone It's all a part of the Master's Plan A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick at heart, Go to the friends we know, Share with them happy thoughts of me Miss me - but let me go.

To Jan and the Ron's family, remember the good times and there were many. My thoughts are with you.
The Parkinson condition would have met its match in the strong will of Ron.

Just a gentle hello and sympathy from a Toronto Board of Education colleague. Ron's poem was so on the mark. Thank you. Paddy Glenday Waymark, Retired 1998.

Jan:Ron was a brother - in - law to a brother - in - law, and I remember the energy in the room always being turned up a notch when Ron entered a Runstedler function. I always enjoyed on the few occasions our paths crossed the conversations about baseball and umpiring and I must admit that Ron had more and better stories than I did. My deepest condolences go to you and your entire family and siblings. Kindest regards. Tom Baker
