RON FOUNTAIN Obituary

RON FOUNTAIN May 1, 1940 - March 20, 2016 It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ronald Cristo Fountain after a short battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Delores (nee Kozie), proud father of son Matthew and father-in-law of Leslie (nee Grima). He will be forever cherished as Papi to Fiona and Brock. Ron will be greatly missed by many of his extended family and friends. A Celebration of Ron's Life will take place on Sunday, April 3rd at 1 p.m. in the Chapel at The Old Mill in Toronto at 21 Old Mill Road, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to The Terry Fox Foundation or active participation in the annual Terry Fox Run.

Ron Fountain starred in my first film project eleven years ago. The moment he walked in the room and spoke, I knew he was the guy. Ron was kind and generous with his time, and helped to lend a level of credibility I never expected to achieve. He hadn't always been a full-time actor and it was only in his retirement years that he devoted so much time to what he loved.

With a great sense of humour and a wry smile at my (then) youthful ideas, he was always game for what the script called for. I had him stay up all night, run through snow, brandish a gun, and even get a little bloody. Ron thought it was ridiculous, but so much fun.

A wonderful gentleman with a heart as big as his smile.

Thank you for letting me know you, Ron.
