Ronald Jarman Obituary

JARMAN, Ronald - December 14, 1925 - November 25, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce Ron's passing. Forever to be loved and missed by Eileen, David, Jennifer, Natasha and Jack Jarman, Kevern Beck, Maurine Kwok, family members and many friends. Ron grew up in Australia, served with its Navy in the South Pacific and was posted to Japan after WWII, before settling in Canada. He had a series of interesting careers on the Avro Arrow project and then at Powertronics, before joining Royal Trust and later Regal Capital Planners. He was a member of Ashbridge's Bay Yacht Club and the Outer Harbour Sailing Club. He played regularly at Annandale and Cresthaven Golf Clubs. His enjoyment of life was infectious and always found something to be happy and positive about to the very end. He was friendly and kind-hearted, with a great sense of humour and a broad outlook on politics, business and history. His family would like to thank all the medical professionals who helped him so conscientiously and kindly, Dr. Shier, Gwen, Shirley, Centenary Hospital, the emergency services and the many anonymous blood donors on whom his quality of life has depended these last few months. Help us celebrate his life at Pine Hills Visitation Centre, 625 Birchmount Road, Scarborough (north of St. Clair Avenue), 416-267-8229, on Friday, December 3rd, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Blood Services or the Rouge Valley Health System Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you Uncle Ron for being a great uncle. For letting me ride pillion on your motor bike when I was young even though my parents disapproved to putting up with me as a house guest when I was travelling around. You always made me welcome.

You helped a lot with our genealogy which we as a family, enjoyed.

It is with sadness that I say goodbye.

With love

Even thought we were far apart our early days as boys together I remember very well. From playing cricket in the backyard to riding bikes we always had fun which our Dad didn't always appreciate even to the time we pulled Ron out of the newly dug sewer lines.

I shall miss my telephone conversations with my younger brother and it is with sadness and a tear that I send my love.

I'm truly sorry for your loss. Ron was a great person and it was a privilege to know him. I've been Ron's neighbour for the last 8 years. I will miss our conversations. He was a source of great advice on everything from raising children to laying a flat roof to pruning trees. He also had so many great stories to tell. I know that the next time I'm working on a project outside I'll wonder what advice Ron would have had for me.

You have our sincerest condolences,
Ava, Sophia, Julee and Jim

I only met Mr. Ronald Jarman a few times at some family functions, however, he impressed me most with his gentleness and the twinkle in his eyes.
David, my condolence to you and your family,
