Ronald Matheson Obituary

Ronald Ross MATHESON

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our father Ronald Ross Matheson. Born in the Scottish highlands in the town of Nairn on January 28, 1923, Dad lived an adventurous, authentic and very full life.  He joined the British Royal Navy at the young age of 16, fought in three wars and received 8 medals including the Burma Star.  Dad passed away on January 11, 2016 just days shy of his 93rd year surrounded by his loving family.

Sadly missed and forever remembered by his cherished wife, Isabel,

His children Andrew, Sheena, Deborah and David,

His grandchildren Amber, Matthew, Stirling, Sorina, Ceilidh and David,

And his great-grandchildren Amaia, Autumn and Alistair.

Forever in our hearts

"My heart's in the Highlands, my heart is not here, my heart's in the Highlands, a-chasing the deer" - Robert Burns 1789

Memorial Service will be held  in the Giffen-Mack Chapel (2570 Danforth Ave. at Main St. subway station) on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.

Sheena and family
Those we love don't go away they walk beside us each and every day. Appreciate the people that God has given you you never know when he wants them back. Death leaves a heart ache that no one can heal. Always keep him tucked safely in your hearts

My love and prayers Sheena (Sorina and Ceilidh), Andrew, Deborah, David and family. Many thoughts fight for the forefront as I reflect upon your Dad, a very humorous, engaging, brilliant man.
My heart to your Mum, a young brave couple they were.
I thank your Dad for the price he paid to secure the freedom I have lived in.
I was blessed to have known him.
