RONALD WATT Obituary

RONALD MICHAEL WATT It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Ron Watt at the age of 72 years on Monday, December 15, 2014 at the Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, FL. Ron was born on February 3, 1942 in South Porcupine, ON and was the son of Willis and Theresa (Brophy) Watt. He is survived by his loving wife, Ilene (Kardashinski) Watt, his daughter, Shannon, her husband, Seton Stiebert and his cherished grandson, Torquil. Also left to mourn his passing are his siblings and their spouses: his twin sister Rita and Ron Tracey, sister Janet and Dave Player, brother Andy and Sheryl Watt and sister-in-law Margaret Pondo. Ron was predeceased by his parents, his brothers-in-law Stanley Pondo and Marcus Stephens and his sister-in-law Mildred Stephens. Ron will also be deeply mourned by his many nieces and nephews and their children Rob, Georgina and Tony, Terry-Anne and Doug, Michael, Tom and Sherry, Ryan and Angie, Lara and Phil, Sandra and Dan Hilborn, Susan and Tony Warzel and Michael and Karen Stephens. He will also be sorely missed by his numerous cousins and friends who are spread across North America and England. Ron had many passions in his life: sailing in summers, winters in Florida, country music, family and friends, fast cars, good food, holidays and parties and many more, too numerous to list. He will be remembered most for his warmth and compassion for everyone he met. He loved people. He defended those who needed defending, he helped those who needed help and he made everyone he met feel at ease with him and helped them understand what life truly was about. We will always miss Ron Watt. May the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face and rain fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet hold you in the palm of his hand. A reception and celebration of Ron's life will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at the Port Credit Yacht Club, 115 Lakefront Promenade, Mississauga, ON. A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2014 at St. Christopher's Roman Catholic Church, 1171 Clarkson Road, Mississauga, ON. Burial will take place at St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa, ON and a memorial service in Fort Myers is planned for the New Year. In lieu of flowers, please donate on Ron's behalf to your favourite charity. Arrangements in the charge of Turner & Porter, Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga.
