Ronald Winter Obituary

Ronald Eugene WINTER

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ron Winter on Friday, July 29, 2016, weeks away from his 90th birthday. He was predeceased by his loving wife Jenny of 60 years, and lovingly remembered by his children Alan (Allison), Cheryl (Earl), Lori and his cherished grandchildren Taylor and Trevor. Ronald is survived by his sister Shirley Thomas of Indiana. Ron will continue to be cherished by all his family and friends who have been graced by his life. Visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, August 4th and 11 a.m. Friday, August 5th with Service to follow at 1 p.m. in the Chapel, at Jerrett Funeral Home, North York Chapel, 6191 Yonge Street, Toronto (2 blocks south of Steeles Avenue), on Friday, August 5, 2016.

Ronald was a man of great belief, which he instilled in everyone he knew. Ron had many friends and built lasting relationships throughout his life. He had a positive outlook and enriched the lives of many who knew him. He will be forever remembered and dearly missed.

Ronald was a mentor to many and a generous person, always doing for others, expected nothing in return. He was honest, ethical, genuine and a true leader. Still at 89 years of age, he was a vibrant go-getter, fiercely independent, running errands, attending meetings of engineering alumni, neighbourhood meetings, getting to appointments by car or by subway. His life was full and he enjoyed every minute.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of one's choice are appreciated. Online condolences may be made at www.jerrettfuneralhometoronto.ca

ODE TO RON WINTER
AKA Two Lives Well Lived

Chris first met Ron in '39,
Entering high school - time to shine.

But was was declared to their dismay,
Life became tougher until VE Day!

In '46, to "Ajax" both went to "Skule",
Sharing life with Vets was very "cool".

They both enjoyed happy careers,
And kept in touch over the years.

Including the talks at the "Lunch & Learn",
Both soon will be gone, now grads have their turn.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Mr. Ron Winter. I always loved our Sunday morning 'chats' at Church. He always made me laugh and had a smile on his face.

My sincerest condolences. I have the fondest memories of Ron (Jenny) growing up, and though we only saw each other at family events, he always gave me the biggest smile and warmest hugs! He will be missed. Sending hugs and warm thoughts to everyone.

Ron Winter will be missed by so many of us at the WPC. He sat every Sunday behind my daughter and I and we chatted before the service and after. I will forever miss his smile. My condolences to the family.
God Bless.

I would like to offer my most heartfelt condolences. Mr. Ron Winter was a highly experienced, knowledgeable and intelligent person. He was also a greatly warmhearted, humble and dedicated Christian. His friendship was amazing privilege for me. He understood my difficulties of living in Canada because I am an international student. He explained my situations to people whom were considered could help me and even tried to connect me with people who were able to speak my mother tongue. He gladly shared his valuable life stories and experiences with me as a good friend. He will live in my heart forever. We will reunite with this honorable friend, our precious Ron Winter, in the Kingdom of Heaven. May the Solace and Peace of the LORD be with his family.

My sincere condolences! Ron gave me my first job at his office which helped me build my confidence. Both he and Jenny will always have a special place in my heart. We didn't see each other often but they were always there when someone needed something. He will be missed!
