Oh, Rossie. I do miss him so. We were fast friends from the time some anal Grade 10 teacher alphabetized his classroom and Ross and I were plunked one behind the other--HAYball/HAWton. We were pretty much inseparable after that. We played touch football and work ups and shinny and cribbage and Mrs. Hayball fed me butter tarts. When I finally squirmed out from under the yoke of my first marriage, it was to Rossie's place I went to spend a couple of nights on the floor. For a couple of years we played pool every Saturday morning. And we drank a lot together. I think of Rossie every day. And I wish a reprieve from the mourning for Pamela.

Thinking about you Ross as the first anniversary passes. You left too soon - so unfair for all of us who loved you. But yes you are still there in our hearts forever.

The neighbourhood is just not the same without Ross and his wonderful sense of humour and general delight in life. May the passing of time ease your sorrow Pamela.

I go out my front dor every day and look across to your porch and picture Ross there and hear him say Hello to me. His image and voice are so clear to me and I will never forget him.

He was a delightful scoundrel. I am certain that wherever he is now, he will soon be back on a stage, basking in the joy of a loving audience.

Dear Pamela, Eric and I share your great sorrow in losing Ross. We will always remember the walks along the boardwalk, punctuated by long pauses when Ross would stop to emphasize a point, usually with the addition of a humerous aside. It was a ritual whenever we came to Toronto. We shall miss Ross enormously. Our visits to Toronto will not be the same without him. Both you and he are in our thoughts.

Ross was a close friend of mine back in the old ESL days. I respected his sharp mind and insights, loved his wit and humour, and knew first-hand his capacity for warmth and caring.
Damn it all, my old friend, you left the party way too early! Alas …
Pamela, he was never better than in his time with you.

I can still hear Ross speaking to our dog Sage and he and Pam walked by. "Well, how is woofie today?" He will be missed by so many. Very sorry for your loss, Pamela.

Dear Pamela, may the memories about Ross in this website help you in your grief. We are so sorry. We have missed Ross through this very long week, we look at his car and find it very sad that he is not around, that he will not appear with his wit, impecable speech and vocabulary, the logic that characterized the organization of his thoughts, his humor, his Shakeapeare readings, and Claudio will miss going to play pool with him at Rivoli.
Wherever you are Ross, we are sure that you have gathered many friends already.

We will miss Ross very much. His humourous stories of life as a journalist, teacher and writer. Always carrying his satchel full of ideas, even if just to the pub. Our heartfelt sympathies to Pamela at this time. "Goodnight, sweet prince."

I will miss his energy, his laugh, his wit, his insight, but most of all I will miss his kindness and his generous spirit. So much for all of us to lose. Pamela my heart goes out to you. "Everyone can master a grief but he that has it" William Shakespeare

I was so sad to hear of your loss. Ross was always quite the character with a mischeivious twinkle in his eye, a smile for all to enjoy and a humour that gave us all great chuckles and laughter.

I shall miss my Rossie so. Through a crowed room I could sense his humour waking laughter in his passing. He'd arrive crushing my unsuspecting hand with hilarity lurking behind the curtains. Smart, of course. Generous even when he had nothing. Caring always. I shall miss My Rossie so.

Please allow us to express how deeply saddened we are by your loss. What we knew of Ross shone through his zeal for life, zest for socializing and an insatiable need to poke fun. He was truly "alive" in life, as few are capable of being. May the wonderful memories you've shared together be some comfort for you in the difficult time to come.
We grieve with you, dear Pamela.
