Dear Kerry and family,
Last night one of my piano students who attends your father/grandfather's school told me of his passing. I was so shocked and saddened. He was truly a wonderful man and his legacy will continue to live on through all he touched with his warm and caring spirit. My sincere condolences to you and your family at this difficult time. It was my privilege to have been Russ'administrative assistant and as a result I learned much.Russ was a gentle man who by example taught all of us who knew him that integrity, loyalty and kindness were never to be compromised.I'm sure his children and grandchildren will demonstrate his influence on them for a lifetime. What a remarkable legacy!

Sincere condolences to Mrs. Barber and the extended Barber family on the passing of Russell D. Barber. I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Barber three times, at the grade 5 graduation of each of my children from RDB, as we fondly call the school. My children were all very sad to hear of Mr. Barber's passing, but were happy to remember the kind man that stood with them for graduation photos. May you all draw comfort from your many wonderful memories of happy times.

It has been an honour to open and teach at a school named after Russ. He came to every Grade 5 Graduation for 22 years and always had words of wisdom for the kids. They LOVED him. It is with such sadness that I acknowledge Russ' passing but I take comfort in the fact that I knew him..a fine man..he will be missed at Russell D. Barber P.S.
