RUSSELL PELESH Obituary

PELESH, RUSSELL RADE September 15, 1933 – November 21, 2018 It is with great sadness that the family of Russ announce his passing at the St. Marys Memorial Hospital. Russ was born to Milica and George Pelesh in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. He grew up in Sudbury and London, Ontario. As the youngest of three boys he quickly learned to take charge of any situation. He started his career as a carman apprentice for the CNR in Hornepayne, Ontario. It was there that he met the only girl for him, Sandra Lee Freve. She kept him warm and fed and he dug her gardens. They were blessed with two daughters. As Russ climbed the corporate ladder, he commanded the railroad in many communities across Canada (Hornepayne, Capreol, Toronto, Brockville, London, Winnipeg, Moncton, and Saskatoon) and touched many lives before retiring to St. Marys. He was our Hero. Russell will be greatly missed and forever remembered by the love of his life for 57 years Sandra Lee. His daughters Radene (Kevin) and Krista. His much loved and loud grandchildren Alexander, Melitza, Lylalee Soley and Kara Cowieson. His big brothers Peter (Doreen) and Joe (Ann, deceased). Niece Jovannah (Daniel) Belaire, nephews Tim Rogers and Mark Pelesh and families. And his beloved mother-in-law Betty Freve. Cremation has taken place. An Open House Celebration of Life will take place at the ST. MARYS GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB, 769 Queen St. E., St. Marys, on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 2 – 4 p.m. with words of remembrance at 2:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Marys Memorial Hospital Foundation, Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Stratford-Perth Humane Society.
