We had a special relationship. Ruth's children had passed and my family had passed and and we gravitated together to fill the void in our lives. Ruth knew my grandmother, parents and me who lived in the house across the street on Pendeen. She has known me my whole life and we spent time together going to play euchre at church, shopping, sitting in the breeze way in the summer, playing scrabble and more. She and her family welcomed me into their circle for which I am forever grateful. She was an opinionated woman but always remained your friend.. She is the last original neighbour on Pendeen to pass on. She and Bill were faithful to the area. There is a memorable stone at Roseland School that Bill and Ruth purchased and placed with the names of the young boys who went off to WWII. They supported the Humber Memorial Hospital and Horticultural Society in Weston. Ruth carried on this support after Bill's passing. Thank you Mother Belsey for being in mine and my family's life. You will always live on in our hearts and thoughts. Rest in peace Mother Belsey.

My parents were friends of the Belseys, but I only met Ruth a couple of times. She was a lovely, friendly lady and I was happy to have known her for a brief time.
