I knew Gord and Ruth briefly many many years ago while attending Sunday School at Floyd Avenue Baptist Church. They sponsored a contest for the Sunday School attendees in order to get more people to attend church and the prize was an air trip to Buffalo. Although I didn't win, they took me anyway. I have never forgotten your kindness nor the true Christian example you both set. My sincerest sympathy is extended to you, Gord and your family at this time.

Ruth touched my life in ways too numerous to mention. She was always supportive in love and prayer and a person I feel privileged to have known. Her work on earth was finished and God called her home to the place He has prepared. My heart goes out to the Johnson Family but know they are surrounded by God's love and many friends.. Ruth was a gentle woman who quietly lived her life for Christ. Now she knows how many lives she has touched and embraced for the gospel. She was my spiritual Mother and our friendship was precious. I'm glad she is in paradise with our Saviour and free from pain. I rejoice that God had Ruth in my life plan.

We were deeply saddened to hear of Ruth's passing but know that she is now at peace and without pain.

I have so many great memories of summers gone by with Corn Roasts at Labour Day and Summer Bible School for all of us kids on the beach with Ruth.

She was a wonderful caring and thoughful lady who continued to touch me through Mom's later years and on her passing. She will be truly missed by all of us.

Ruth was my friend for many years, my sister. In fact, Ruth said more than once that I was the sister she didn't have. We were "kindred spirits" and I loved her. Ruth and Gord were kind and generous friends to me and I have thanked our Heavenly Father for you both many times. I think we both knew we were saying good-bye about three months ago when we spent a long time chatting in Ruth's little sitting room. Though we met once again over dinner (if it can be said that what Ruth ate was "dinner"), we had already said our good-bye until the day when we will meet again in Heaven.

For you, Gord, Sue, Heather, Graeme and all your family, I want you to know that I am praying for you with love. Your wife and mother, my friend, is safe in the arms of Jesus! Della
